Malin Stegmann Mccallion
Forskning
Dr Stegmann McCallion’s research interests include multi-level governance, Europeanisation processes, paradiplomacy/sub-state diplomacy, sub-national regionalisation processes, differentiated integration in Europe, and awkward states/awkwardness in European integration. Her research mainly uses Sweden as her case.
Currently Dr Stegmann McCallion is involved in two different projects, she is the academic lead for KAU in . She is currently working on a paper which is focusing on the smart specialisation strategy of Värmland.
Some research publications include the chapter ‘’ (2020) which she wrote together with Professor Alex Brianson.
Dr Stegmann McCallion co-edited a book with Professor Alex BriansonÌý published by Palgrave in 2018. Fellow collaborators in this book were Professor Anders Wivel (University of Copenhagen), Professor Stefan Gänzle (University of Agder), Dr Thomas Henökl (University of Agder), Professor Hanna Ojanen (University of Tampere), Professor Tapio Raunio (University of Tampere) and Professor Baldur Thorhallsson (University of Iceland).
Undervisning
Dr Stegmann McCallion is the convenor of the following courses: Europakunskap (EU Studies, distance course), and Aspects of Sweden*. She also for example gives lectures about EU for future civics teachers on the Secondary Education Programmes, and on the Culture, Policy and Management Programme.
Dr Stegmann McCallion also supervises students both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr Stegmann McCallion is engaged in collaborative research and various networks that provide an international context to her work. She utilises this aspect of her work in both teaching and research perspectives.

Biografi
Before joining Political Science, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Dr Stegmann McCallion was a Research Fellow at Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University, Wales (2007-2008). At the Department of Politics and International Relations Dr Stegmann McCallion was working on a research project Paradiplomacy in Post-Devolution Wales together with Dr Elin Royles and Professor Richard Wyn Jones.
Dr Stegmann McCallion has worked as a College Lecturer at School of Politics and International Relations, University College Dublin, Ireland (2005-2007) and as Junior Lecturer at the Department of Politics and Public Administration, Limerick University, Ireland (2005).
Dr Stegmann McCallion undertook her doctoral studies at the Institute of Governance, Public Policy and Social Research, Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland (2001-2004). Her PhD thesis was titled ‘EU’ropeanisation: Challenges to Regional Administrative Structure and Regional Policy in Sweden.
