Migration and Transformation of Powerful Knowledge
This subproject, "Migration and Transformation of Powerful Knowledge", addresses one of the major social issues of today - migration and cultural encounters. As the other subproject within ROSE centres this project on practice-oriented matters. The broad aim of the subproject is to contribute to the development of a teaching that can have a significant effect on the students' possibilities to learn and whereby strengthen the students' knowledge and understanding of the field migration. Aspects of knowledge and transformation are central to the project. The idea of Powerful Knowledge is an important source of inspiration as a curriculum principle and raises questions about the role of specialised knowledge in the school-subjects.
Methodological is the subproject related to traditions of Educational Design Research. This means that the approach is interactive and contextual. Research is conducted in close cooperation with teachers. To be more precise, so-called research- and development circles are initiated with in-service teachers. In these circles is teaching, like lesson plans and exercises, developed iteratively.
Like the other projects within ROSE is this an interdisciplinary project. Researchers from different disciplines, primarily from social sciences and languages, interact. The project consists of several smaller projects, which in various ways examine the issue of migration and cultural encounters. To the participating researchers, the issues of migration and cultural encounters are not new, several of the researchers have previously published extensively in this area.
