Prerequisites
Nursing licence issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. A Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (180 credits), including a degree project of 15 credits, a Degree of Bachelor in Nursing (including a degree project of 15 credits), or equivalent qualifications. Professional experience in nursing corresponding to 12 months of full-time work. Swedish 3 or Swedish as a second language 3, and English 6/A. Equivalence assessment can be made.

Education
The programme is offered part-time in the first year and in the second year students choose part-time or full-time. Instruction is net-based with on-campus meetings. The first four courses are based on case methodology, patient simulator and practical exercises in the ambulance services. These courses form the basis of course five, which a 10-week practical placement. Course six is a degree project (15 ECTS cr, which gives students the opportunity to specialise in their area of expertise. Instruction is web-based and requires computer skills and access to: A computer not older than three years, RAM 2Gb, web camera and head set for web conferences with USB connection. Web conferences require broadband connection of at least 2 Mbs and wired network connection (not mobile). Your computer will be tested before the start of course at kau.se/datortest. Students work on assignments individually or in groups via a computer based platform. Instruction is also in the form of on-campus lectures and seminars.Examination
Examination formats vary and may be oral or written, individual or in groups. Practical performance is also assessed. Examination usually takes place at the end of each course, module, or unit.Professional Contact
The programme includes a 10-week practical placement period. Students are offered placement in the county councils of V盲rmland. Other arrangements may be made on agreement between all parties concerned. Students may incur additional travel and accommodation expenses in connection with the training period.Course of study
