About Music 60 (ECTS credits)
Music 60 ECTS credits is a one-year course preparing for music studies in higher education with a focus on instrumental skillsÌý and ensembleÌýand orchestra membership. (Updated 7 April)
Main instrument instruction comprises individual tutoring as well as joint classes with all students in an instrument group at the Ingesund School of Music. Individually adapted basic course inÌýmusic theory is mandatory as is choir practice and membershipÌýin small and big ensembles.
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, entrance tests for About Music 60 ECTS credits will not take place at the Ingesund School of Music as usual. Applicants are instead asked to partake in a digital entrance test by recording a video and submitting it to us.Ìý

Main instrument audition
Which main instrument entrance test you choose to take will depend on the genre in which you feel most at home. Click on the links below for information on how to enter the video audition of each genre.

You are only required to take one entrance test on your main instrument even if you are also applying to the Ingesund Folk High School College Music Programme and/or the Music Teacher Programme.
Music theory entrance test
The test in music theory has primarily a diagnostic function, which means that the applicants’ result decide how the music theory groups are divided when the course starts. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, the test will not take place at the Ingesund School of Music as usual. Following 3 May, we will instead contact applicants who have passed the instrument audition for About Music 60 ECTS credits, who will then be asked to take a digital music theory test. This applies to applicants for both About Music 60 ECTS credits and Ingesund Folk High School College Music Programme.
